Love is the best there is, but sometimes it gets a bit monotonous and boring. Having a life routine with our partner is indeed a convenient way to share intimacy, but doing the same with her day after day also ends up burning.

“We accept the love we think we deserve.”

Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

What’s the point of having a better half if we treat them like our roommates? Okay, it’s not humanly possible to have an exciting new plan every day, but it is possible to add some magic and sparkle to the relationship.

Fortunately for those who are seeing how boring their love relationship is becoming, here we will see a variety of things to do as a couple, a long proposal to stave off boredom and attract passion.

As much as we love our partner, a routine can end the magic of the relationship. Yes, having daily habits is indeed comfortable and, as long as there is mutual respect and no toxic behavior is supported, there is no reason to think that the relationship is not healthy or that there is a problem. Now, in a relationship where monotony is the law.

There is a risk that one day the spark will go out and that special person could become just like a roommate or a colleague. When it arrives you must be prepared to overcome any difficulties.

In a world full of opportunity, the options we have to rekindle the passion, the magic of sharing our life with another human being, are practically limitless.

Some do this by organizing a special dinner now and then or wandering around the city in search of a new place of worship. Others, on the other hand, prefer to introduce new gestures and caresses into the relationship. There is a lot to try!

Below we will see 18 fascinating activities, gestures, and details that we can do as a couple so that the relationship is revived with passion and love, strengthening it more than ever.

1. Watch the movies you both like

Watch the movies you both like

A classic but also a great way to share time and taste. Which films do you like? Do you have something pending to see? What if you opt for the entire saga?

You can even give the marathon a little life and dress up as the star of the film. To add even more grace, you can decorate the room with the filming scene and even make a themed aperitif.

2. Do selfless work together

Helping others is more satisfying when done in the company of a loved one, and who better than our partner can share the generosity?

In virtually any location you can find centers that ask for help from volunteers or need donations.

Helping other people is very nice and doing it with the one we love can bring us together a lot. Couples who practice altruism are among the happiest.

3. Listen to your favorite singer at a concert

It may seem a bit common activity, but the truth is that it is very rare for members of a couple to go to the same concert, apart from the one where they probably met. Going to a concert of our favorite band or the one that composed “our song” is perfect for generating memories.

You can also go and try it, choosing an artist or a group that we have never heard before and experiencing the magic of listening to them for the first time in the company of the person we love.

4. Learn something new

A great way to share time is to spend your free time learning something new together. Can it be anything: art? Well, a painting class. Do you want to learn a new language? Chinese is a good option, it is quite fashionable. Do you like wine? there are many wine tasting courses… Anything you can think of is fine, as long as it’s something you both like.

5. Food tasting day out

Food fills the stomach and the heart, not only the broken ones but also the lovers. If you like food, taking a food tour is one of the best activities there is.

This activity is as simple as doing an internet search for interesting restaurants in town, writing them on a list, and embarking on the journey by trying new things while doing it in the company of our partner.

6. A photo is worth thousands of words

All couples have photos together both on their phones and in photo albums, but few of these photos are as important and emotional as those from their wedding.

Many weddings only have photos worthy of immortalizing those that were taken in the photoshoot of their wedding, which is a bit sad.

Is it no longer necessary to take decent photos once marital cohabitation has begun? Doing a photoshoot once a year is a good way to immortalize the evolution of love, regardless of whether we are married or not.

7. Take dance classes

Take dances classes like tango, salsa, ballroom, or swing. Any style would do as long as you get in touch with your partner.

Through dance, you can establish a strong emotional connection with your boyfriend/girlfriend or spouse, something you can achieve by taking lessons or just letting the rhythm invade you and dance without restraint.

8. Remember the first date?

If the first date was so magical, why not repeat it? A very romantic idea is to repeat the first date. Indeed, it will not be as special as the first time, but of course, it will be very intense because it will remind you how magical that moment was. If you can repeat the first date step by step, the better, although who knows? New things can emerge in this that make it even more memorable.

9. Be creative

It can be a craft, a ceramic, a puzzle, a ship model … The idea is to choose a project to put together. For the activity to involve sharing a lot of time, you can choose jobs that require many steps, practice, or simply involve having to assemble many pieces. The day you finish the project, you will feel really at ease, not only for having finished the project but also for having fun together along the way.

10. Take your partner to the SPA

We all need our time to relax, and that translates into a day at the spa and massage. There is nothing more relaxing and sensual than the two of them lying lightly dressed while massaging us with hot stones and vapors of delicate fragrances. Couples packages are offered in many beauty centers, ideal for having fun with our love by releasing tension.

11. Recedorate or refurbish your place

Many couples live together, but their home is not a reflection of their union but rather of their coexistence. The best way to change this is to turn a room into a place that represents our love.

Furnishing a room together, choosing the furniture, the color of the walls, the floor, the painting, etc, is the best way to represent the personality of your bond, which is more than the sum of two people, is a sign of identity.

12. Try a new sports

Strong emotions are by far the best way to break the monotony of a relationship, and extreme sports have them in the mood. Bungee jumping, parachuting, motocross, mountaineering … in short, any activity that makes our heartbeat by unloading an adrenaline rush serves to put an end to the boredom of the routine in which our relationship can be involved.

13. Compose a song to remember

Composing a song together is another way to represent your personality. The musical genre, the rhythm, the lyrics … all of this is a living reflection of that union. Also, to make it even more meaningful, you can write a love letter that talks about important moments in the relationship or how you met. This will surely be your song.

14. Visit your nearest museum

Culture should be fundamental in every person’s life, so its importance in couples is twofold. You can turn your Saturdays into cultural days, as it is the day you are least likely to have to go to work.

Start the weekend by taking a tour of the museums, or going to the historic center and discovering the wide variety of cultural sites that are available in your area.

15. Indoor games

It is not necessary to leave the house or resort to very sophisticated activities to have fun with your partner. An afternoon of games can become the perfect excuse to be together and have fun. Games such as; board games, cards, or even video games are ideal, especially when it’s a rainy day. Remember, that there are always alternatives to keep love alive and games at home are one of them.

16. Exchange the books you read

Sharing the experience of reading each other’s books will not only expand your cultural knowledge but will also allow you to get to know each other better.

Once you have finished reading the book you have chosen, you should comment on it to see what aspects you have looked at in each book. Discuss it and listen to each other opinions. Reading the same books is one of the most romantic activities you can find.

17. Hidden love notes

You’ve arrived home and found a note with an “I love you” and a heart at the entrance. It doesn’t make any sense, but it’s also very pretty. Surprising your partner with hidden love notes at home is a great way to keep the flame of love alive, making your partner feel truly loved and excited to find out what will happen next. And if you add a trail of rose petals and candles to this, you get a magical and beautiful atmosphere.

18. Acquire, hire or buy a pet

Maybe you don’t like pets, or maybe you’ve never thought of having one.

One of the most commendable tasks you can do is to adopt a pet. Many of them live in foster families waiting to be adopted by a family that has the time and energy to give them love and comfortable home to live in.
