Harmonious relationships are a cornerstone of a happy and fulfilling life, but building and maintaining them can be a challenging task. In this article, we’ll explore seven actionable steps to help you unlock the power of connection and cultivate harmonious relationships that last.

Very often when we interact with others we tend to put our point of view, our needs and our way of being in the foreground. Too often, however, we forget that we are much more than a physical body: we are made up of thoughts, emotions, energy that we transmit incessantly to anyone we meet along our path. Let’s learn then to spread energy and positive emotions, and our emotional state will also improve and our relationships will be more harmonious!

Energy follows thought

It is estimated that every day we emit a very high number of thoughts, most of which, unfortunately, depot towards others, the world, our lives, and why not? Even about ourselves! Now the problem is not so much thoughts as such, but rather the fact that most of them are connected to as many emotions which, if negative, do nothing but attract us to the very people and situations we would like to avoid.

The influence of thoughts and expectations

The perception that others have of us is strongly influenced by how we think about it: if we feel ugly, incapable, inconclusive, we will transmit our sensations to the people around us who, without even realizing it, will see us exactly that way.

However, this is also true of others: if we are convinced that a given person is incapable of carrying out a task, it is highly probable that he will not complete it or, at least, not satisfactorily. Why? Very simple!

Look at the other with “positive” eyes

The way we see and consider others determines, on an unconscious level, a whole series of our attitudes which will be perceived by the other on a subtle level and which will end up influencing his behavior towards us. From a “mechanistic” point of view, this can be defined as an “action-reaction system”, in reality all this takes place on an energy level.

This is why we should always try to see the other with new eyes and with an open heart, offering them the opportunity to surprise us in a positive sense.

How many times do we meet an aggressive person who tries to impose himself, perhaps by raising his voice? In these cases, if we put ourselves on the same level as him, it will easily lead to confrontation and we will end up, at best, by getting irritated. 

But if we keep our focus and try to put ourselves in his shoes, thinking that maybe he’s had a difficult day and we try to respond in a calm tone with a smile, we’ll notice “magically” that his attitude will change too.

Step 5: Practice forgiveness

Step 10 Carry out physical activity: 

Physical activity, even moderate, promotes the production of endorphins, the good mood hormones. If we feel happier and happier, it will be easier to create harmonious relationships around us.

Step 11 If possible, hang out with optimistic people:

Hang out with who are able to make us feel positive emotions: let us always remember that optimism is contagious!

Sleep for the necessary time and make sure you wake up rested: sleepless nights are among the first causes of irritability during the day, so let’s do everything possible to start the day right after a good restful sleep!

Step 12 Choose, at all times, the thoughts that make us feel good: 

With a little training each of us will be able to identify negative thoughts as they arise and immediately replace them with empowering positive thoughts.
